Characters
Szalan is a Monk
of T'Zal. A wandering explorer, scientist and adventurer. He approaches
the party at a base station during layover asks to join them - they are travelling
in a direction he finds logical to go.
Lieutenant Commander Reuben Fiske - Starfleet Security. Commander of an impromptu action team, Fiske is convinced that Szalan is actually a Romulan agent as is following him to gain evidence to this effect. Fiske was actually a security officer a starbase Szalan stopped at four months ago. Fiske asked his captain for permission to trail Szalan and has taken things a bit too far.
Fiske has with him 4 other crew people he has picked up along the way, all of whom have bought into his idea that Szalan is actually a Tal Shiar agent. These will be essentially an adventuring party of their own with characterful oddballs.

If the PCs allow Szalan to join them, they'll acquire an NPC science Officer/First
Contact specialist who may well come in very handy
